a "little someone" cut these letters out with her tiny little scissors- glued them on her paper and said, "mom don't forget."
"do what you love".....
This morning I pulled over in Harlem to clear off my windshield from all the snow we got last night.
I opened my door and looked down on the street and found this....
"We are all inventors, each sailing out on a voyage of discovery, guided each by a private chart, of which there is no duplicate. The world is all gates, all opportunities."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I watched one of my students secretly make this flower during our art class. It had nothing to do with our lesson but I didn't say anything and let her do it.
After class she walked up to her friend, Conner and said, "I made this for you."
Flowers are gifts. They have different meanings for everyone. One thing I do know, if you recieve one... you feel loved.
Many of you know I teach art in Harlem.
I asked one of my students yesterday after my last class to help clean up the white paint off the tables. Apparently she missed this one tiny spot.
I found it dried up on the table this morning and couldn't help but smile.
There is love as small as it may be.
